If you only want to write and read news, you maybe don't have to read this.
But there are many other options, too.

• In the news overview of the admin center you can choose to view or edit the news. The number of hits displayed increases each time somebody loads the page trough index.php?shownews=XX
• Users that don't belong to the group 'Administrator' or 'Moderator' and aren't in the access list of the news's category can only edit news of themselves
• First of all you have to set the category of the news
• You can now choose a category that has already been created or you can add a new category
• In the next row your username is displayed, you can't change this, only if you are an Administrator and the news were submited
• In the textarea you can write your text that is displayed as the news
• You can here use HTML code and/or BBcode
• If you insert a [more] tag everything before this tag will be displayed at the overview and an Read more link is displayed
• The smilies in the next row a all clickable. Therefore you can easily add smilies to your news
• In the following row you can setup which time will be displayed with the news
• Underneath you are able to add links that are displayed for the news
• Now some dropdown menus are displayed that all should explain themselves (Allow comments doesn't mean you can't see the comments anymore)
• Now some options for displaying the news are displayed
• If Enable HTML is checked yout HTML tags won't be replaced with HTML entities
• If you enable Parse URLs? your text will be parsed for URLs like http://sourceforge.net and will be put in an a tag to make it clickable
• Include in XML backends adds the news to RSS and Atom feed
• Parse BBcode makes it possible that tags like [b]Your Text[/b] will be displayed bold for example
• If the last option Delete is checked the news will be deleted
• If you press Preview instead of Post you'll see a preview of your post at the next page
